Weddings for most people are once in a lifetime, but for this case, this was the second. No, he’s not remarried. He just had one wedding ceremony in Shanghai and one in Singapore. If I was not mistaken, they were already considered married quite some time ago, based on ROM. However, only now, they had the traditional Chinese wedding ceremony.
Not to do a major comparison, but this was a much smaller scale as compared to the other wedding we went to roughly a month ago. Than again, what do you expect? It’s the second time, remember?
Honestly, I wasn’t too keen to go, and neither was my dear. We had the intentions to camp at home, till further notice. Our financial state was at the foot of the hill. And wedding ceremonies isn’t the cheapest kind of entertainment to be at.
By the way, just to make the records straight, Ah Cheong isn’t my friend, he’s my dear’s friend. I just met him like once or twice, during some drinking session with David, whom is also my dear’s friend. Lately, I haven’t exactly kept in touch with my friends, much.
Ok, since that was clarified, let’s continue.
David and his girlfriend came to pick us up at roughly 7pm, and we made our way across the island, to attend this event. Seriously, every time I see David and his girlfriend, it would remind me of siblings and not couples. I mean every little thing they would find an argument to start with each other. I’ve never really seen them together happy. If my relationship was going to be like that, I rather not be in one. To imagine they were together for 10 years.
Damn, why do I keep drifting off the main topic? Ok, again. I’m starving, when is the food, going to be brought out? I haven’t exactly had lunch.
Finally, dinner was served. The food was ‘okay’ nothing really fantastic though. During the mid to the ending of the feast, the photo taking session with the guest and the drinking session took place. As promised, my dear did not touch a slip of alcohol at all. :P
After dinner, they decided to go ‘clubbing’. Haha. This was the first wedding I’ve been to that had plans after dining, to go somewhere else to havoc. Rather ridiculous actually. I mean shouldn’t it be the time for the newly weds to head to their honeymoon suit and enjoy the moment while it last?
Anyway, of all places to club, they went to club situated on the 4th floor (I think), beside Lot 1 Shopping Center. Goodness, it was a club for the elderly. I simply hate the crowd, the music, and the place altogether. In fact, the idea of going clubbing today was also something I dreaded in the first place. I am definitely never going to go there again, permanent.
It reached a point that I had to walk off. My dear was corned to the edge, and I doubt he was going to be able to resist having a slip of alcohol any longer. I said I would definitely walk off and head home if he were to break his promise. And before he could, I decided to leave first, just in case I might create an unnecessary scene. Shortly after I left, my dear called, just before I held a cab. The timing was just nice, and without much persuasion, I headed back.
I guess it was quite obvious I wasn’t pleased, because after I returned my dear announced we were leaving.
Well, I’m not sure if I believe him, but I kinda accepted his ‘story’ that he didn’t drink after all.
