What's New in Plesk

The release of Plesk 8.1 is the first step in providing our users with a unified automation solution. This new version of the software brings platform parity to Plesk and continues to deliver innovative ease of use, the highest levels of stability and performance, security and unmatched value. This is a major release for the Windows version of the software which now contains many of the features and capabilities found in the Linux version making Plesk the true leader in multi-platform control panels.

1. More WebStats Available - Now users have access to AWstats as an alternative web statistics program.

2. Ruby on Rails Support - This version of the control panel supports Ruby on Rails which is designed to be a simple, complete, extensible and portable scripting language.

3. MySQL 5 Support - The Linux version of the software now supports MySQL 5 which delivers advanced SQL standard-compliant features.

4. FreeBSD Packages - In this new release, the operating system is distributed as a set of packages that allow administrators to omit optional components and to update Plesk and third party components separately.

5. Improved Plesk Density on Virtuozzo - Plesk control panel is optimized to operate within Virtuozzo virtual environments allowing administrators to host up to 15% more virtual private servers.
