Okay... Basically, I felt a little worried to go into a "battle of words" and decided to email Veron, just in case one fine day someone post a comment in a blog accusing me of being a copycat.

To be honest, though I define myself as a graphic/web designer that knows HTML, PHP, SQL, CSS, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and etc, and can design/code a website from scratch. I'm not exactly creative, more like innovative. Thus, I'm somewhat a copycat. Haha.

I mean there are seriously too many similar products, designs and whatsoever in the market already. Nothing current is actually creative anymore. Everything is more like innovation.

Anyway, below is what I sent. And I'll be, of cause, crediting my new design layout with thanks to the inspiration given from Veron's design though I kinda already thought of it donkey years ago, but never got to actually doing it.

Dear Veron,

I read your post (http://www.sparklette.net/archives/my-design-has-been-ripped/) and thought it would be best if I sent you an email just in case you happen to come across my site (cause I sometimes comment in your blog, though you probably won't bother about my little old blog).

Anyway, hope you don't mind, I did a new theme for my site and somewhat got the idea from yours.

I'm unfortunately also a graphic/web designer or probably also a web copier. And your design was something I wanted to do, but never had the time and I'm too lazy. Back to the point. Apart from having the castle (lazy to flash, so it's only an image) practically nothing else is even similar. No duplication of words, fonts or images whatsoever.

To put my heart at ease and also to compliment you on an inspirational piece of work you did. I had to send this email.

And again, like I once commented in your blog, great creativity and effort on your blog. Never got tired just looking at it. :)

I wanna do something nice for my site, but I’m seriously too busy and I don’t pay myself. If you have the time, maybe could quote me on how much it would cost to do up something?

When will I pay myself to design something for myself? Duh.
