Wahahaha~
After 365 days, I'm finally able to remove my P-plate! As of today, I have officially 24 points to spare! Wee~
It's not a big deal, I was doing fine with just 12 points, but with 12 more I feel somewhat more secured. Nevertheless, not that I think I would be losing any points anytime soon hopefully.
To think about it, I've been driving Xiao Hong for nearly half a year already. Road tax renewal is going to be due soon. Sigh, have to pay the government S$450.00 again.
Living in Singapore, though somewhat safe, it's an endless challenge, every single day. Pricing increase rapidly every year, but salaries, sadly, don't.
Last I heard, as of March 01, 2007, GST will be officially raised from 5% to 7%. That's like 40% more. So now when you buy something that you think cost S$100.00, you'd be paying S$107.00. You're paying extra S$7.00 for not that great of service and probably not that great a product. Duh.
I wonder if companies would be giving us 40% more CPF. From 13% to 18% (18.2% would be more accurate). I mean it's only fair since our daily expenditure is increased by force, our salaries should also increase to suit the changes, wouldn't you agree?
I feel like writing to the government:
Dear Government,
Since you're increasing our GST by 40% it'd be fair if you force our employers to increase the CPF contributions on their end by 40% as well.
The poor citizens of Singapore are working our ass off to pay our bills, the increase in GST only adds on to our stress and pressure (don't you realise there are more and more patients in IMH lately?). At least if our companies give us more CPF, during our old age when the GST has probably risen to some horrid number that I don't even want to imagine. We, the old and withered citizens of Singapore would still be able to
barelysurvive.Don't just think about us, think about yourselves. How long do you think you'd be high and mighty with such wonderful pay? One day, you'd be out of a job, old and withered like the rest of us, and guess what. You'd be thinking "why didn't I heed Sabrina's advice and force the employers to increase the CPF contributions on their end by 40% more like we increase the GST!"
Therefore, I stress, if you choose to increase our burden, you should also increase the burden of our employers. Think about our future. THINK ABOUT OUR OLD AGE!
I rest my case.
Warmest regards,
Your loyal citizen,
Princess Sabrina
