I got this off AsiaOne Digital, so yes, I'm going to give my "comments" on this. And no, MrOtaku, I'm not stalking anyone.
And we being...
How many times has this issue been brought up? Gosh, this getting old seriously.
About a month ago, Miss Michelle Quek, 18, also found herself the victim of Internet flaming.
The student still doesn't know why some 300 people on a forum took offence at her postings of her daily life, which resulted in some 10,000 or more diatribes against her.
Miss Quek said, 'Somehow, there is a need for a code of conduct. But, seriously, I don't think anyone will care.'
Let me highlight this - "They forgot to mention, she also got famous because of it."
Anyway...
Flaming has been something on-going even before "blogging" became a trend. Famous or not, as long as you publicly post your opinions or even just daily rants, you're somewhat at risk of getting flamed. I mean even the most angelic person in this planet, if such a person exist, can't be "loved" by everyone.
So if you don't wish to be flamed. Don't publish your "entries" publicly. I mean you can only control yourself, you can't expect to control others.
"Code of conduct"?! Are you kidding me, it's like saying "I give you the freedom to speak your mind. I want you to give me your opinions! BUT IF YOU DARE say anything that I DON'T wish to hear! YOU ARE SO SCREWED!" Does that make sense? Duh.
Facts - Human being loves to hear compliments and not insults when directed to themselves. However, they love to hear insults instead of compliments when directed to others.
These are the facts of life. We love drama. We love tragedies. And of cause, "once upon a time" cartoons are so lame. :)
