In "ancient" times, people believed in "word of mouth marketing" to help promote their businesses. Well, nowadays that method is somewhat, obsolete, or rather, a new phrase/method of word of mouth marketing has been "created".
What's this new method I'm talking about? Well... I'm sure most of you are familiar with blogs/blogging right? Instead of using your mouth to promote a product or service, you use the words as well as images in your "blog" to do it.
Blogs are, in fact, considered as a form of "social media". It's something like "personal" opinions, or you could say "unprofessional reviews" of "the consumers" about a product or service (if they happen to be blogging about a product or service). With the rapid increase in the amount of blogs around the world, and the amount of readership blogs are getting. "Blog advertising" is somewhat climbing up the ladders, in becoming a popular "online marketing" method.
Everything is going virtual it seems. Maybe one day, we'd be living in a virtual reality world, somewhat like the movie, "The Matrix"? I wonder is that consider a good thing, or a bad one?
Anyway, my point is, if you have a blog and you have a good amount of readership for your blog, "blog advertising" is an option for you to look to increase your income. As for advertisers, considering that more and more blogs are "flooded" with advertisements nowadays. I would assume that this method is somewhat effective? Otherwise "you guys" wouldn't be pumping in the $$$, right?
Tsk. Here I go, on and on, about "stuff" and somewhat contradicting myself throughout... Ah well... Time to, get back on track, and talk about the "topic" at hand. No more unnecessary "drifts"!
Well, to be honest, the topic is somewhat related to what I've been blabbering about. The difference would be, the need to do a comparison of a particular feature, between 2 "blog advertising" competitors, PayPerPost (PPP) and ReviewMe.
Apparently, due to what I've said previous, companies that "encourage" - "blog advertising" are being set up, one after another.
PPP understand the competition, thus, to enhance the features they provide, they "created" and released PPP Direct, a direct sponsorship service. According to "Part One of the Birdo Release", this service is somewhat similar to what ReviewMe provides.
So why pick PPP's new feature when ReviewMe is somewhat a pioneer in some sense?
Well, if you are using ReviewMe or any competitors' services, you would know that they charge between 50-100% markups on "your" post, while PPP only charges 35% for their self service model.
Being with PPP for the last couple of months, I've made a fair bit for myself. But to be honest, it isn't exactly a breeze. "Blogatorial" isn't as easy as it seems. It isn't that much different from writing advertorial on magazines/newspapers/etc. Yes, 50 - 300 words aren't a hell lot, but to write something that you're not always sure can be a challenge. It's not the same as a simple blog entry where you whine and bitch about our life Effort and a hell lot of reading is required to make sense for every "opp" you take up. And based on the guidelines given by PPP, you can't just copy and paste of information from the advertiser's website to your entry. It takes a "little" bit of "skills" to actually summarize, rewrite, before you submit.
Okay, I'm ending it here. If you need for information, the following links would be of some help.
