How will a pulp result?
I read something which I find quite ridiculous.
A's blog:
A blog war has erupted among a few of the bloggers who participated in the Youth.SG blogging festival which I organised back when I was still at Youth.SG. As the guy who planned and executed the whole campaign, I do feel some sense of responsible to blog about this and hopefully mediate the situation.
So, now we know who organized this "thing" (perhaps many already knew but sadly I'm "out of date"). Good. For once I have something rather negative (or not) to say.
A's blog:
4. Mr Otaku did not respond adversely to the comments (which I thought was a pretty mature thing to do - the winner should be gracious). However, his fan, Priss, a fellow blogger did.
5. Priss struck back against Issac and Soupcanfairy.
6. Issac and Soupcanfairy retaliated.
7. Mr Otaku decided not to be gracious anymore and stepped into the war as well.
"Priss struck back against Issac and Soupcanfairy"? - This calls for a definition. How do you actually define "struck back"? Let's backtrack and take a look at what exactly Priss said to "struck back".
Priss's blog:
MrOtaku, my new 15year old friend, won the Youth.sg blogging competition!! He won a mac book omg omg omg.
However, after he won the competition, many of his competitors and their friends weren't very happy about it. They felt that he doesn't deserve to win.
It's somewhat a fact that there are unhappy people gossiping about the "win". Nothing wrong here...
Priss's blog:

The worse thing about losing this competition (I am @ Youth.sg) is not that I didn't win the macbook but because I lost to someone whom I didn't think I would lose to. I mean.. i completely scratched him from my competitors list because I thought his post was... basically drivel! And seeing that Juni was receiving so many well wishes... I kinda assumed that he would win.
Well that was rather harsh, I would think. Oh well. Lesson learned - never under estimate your competition. Nothing wrong here...
Priss's blog:
Quote from http://www.isaacluvhisass.blogspot.com/ DON'T CLICK ON IT!! IT TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD BECAUSE OF THE INSANE NUMBER OF PICTURES (yes he's a guy!)
Some gross guy won..
____ told me he's some show off guy =/
Hmm... Yes, I guess Priss shouldn't have mentioned the "DON'T CLICK ON IT!! IT TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD BECAUSE OF THE INSANE NUMBER OF PICTURES (yes he's a guy!)" portion, that was a little un-called for.
There isn't a restriction stating guys aren't suppose to post tons of pictures in their blogs. But somehow, in the eyes of the general public, we do somewhat have the impression that usually you tend to see "picture spamming" on a girl's blog rather then a guy's one.
Whatever the case, the statement wasn't meant as a direct attack to Isaac. I mean Priss ONLY HAS 10-20 HITS A DAY! Apart from a couple of others and myself, I didn't even think that anyone would bother visiting her site. It's quite unexpected this would create such a commotion.
So, is this the point that she "struck back"? It still feels like an opinion to me...
Priss's blog:
Ok, I have many things to comment about their comments.. I don't even know where to start!
1. Do these people realise that this competition is 50% judged and 50% popularity votes?
2. All is unfair in love and popularity contests
3. I felt that thegreatsze had a much better entry than juni (many felt that juni should have won)
4. I voted for MrOtaku because his entry doesn't suck and I know him (I would love to know you too thegreatsze ;P )
5. Sore losers. MrOtaku's entry wasn't bad!
6. Soupcanfairy: Your entry.. well there wasn't even a point. What was the social issue?
Issac: Well.. your blog takes too long to load -_- and you didn't discuss the social issue at hand (Hint: you could have talked about social pressures and implications of smoking etc.)
7. There's nothing to be ashamed of winning a popularity contest. It just means you're more popular.
I think my blog takes forever to load too... but I suspect it's because of my google ads... heh!
Damn Priss! You shouldn't have said "sore losers"? - People, people, people. It's a figure of speech. Don't have to take it so seriously. I mean if you lose and bitch about it, you're somewhat being sore, right? And you lost so, yeah, you're somewhat a loser - Generically speaking, of cause.
I'm starting to drift off point. Okay, so tell me, exactly which portion is a literal - "struck back"?
Anyway, so much for "struck back", lets just move on.
A's blog:
The way I see it, things could have resolved itself nicely at step 4 and 5. It takes two hands to clap.
This sentence somewhat implies that Priss shouldn't have voiced her opinions from the very start.
A's blog:
As mentioned earlier, the blog war could have been prevented at step 4 or 5 if either parties took a gracious step back.
And this concludes the implications. Yet...
A's blog:
It's okay to have your own opinion, okay to blog about this, okay to defend yourself, okay to debate. It's not okay to resort to name-calling, not okay to engage in personal attack - not just because it hurts the other party, but also because it's not helping you to win an argument and it's not going to put you in favorable light.
This, however, implies that it's okay to voice your opinions, defend yourself and even debate, but it's not okay to resort to name-calling and engaging in personal attacks.
I'm confused. Let me get this straight. Are you trying to say that it's not okay for Priss to voice her opinions but it's okay that everyone else does it?
*Someone from MSN* says: erm in a lot of people's eyes, he's clever
Yes, I agree that "his" entry is very well written, but I'm not too sure which message exactly is "he" trying to convey?
In my opinion, if I may, I would think that this would have resulted better, if at step 6 (of A's blog) - practice the "10 seconds rule". This is just something I heard from somewhere or I might have made it up, I'm not too sure how it came about, but heck.
Here it goes - Take a deep breathe, count to ten slowly, clear your thoughts, analysis what "you" have just read that seems negative against "you", then choose whether to react or not. This whole "issue" is simply a "common case" of "over-reaction". The evolvement and involvement of 3rd parties that stepped in and joined the "name-calling fun" was really un-called for, but somewhat expected.
I totally agree with the portion that states "It's okay to have your own opinion, okay to blog about this, okay to defend yourself, okay to debate. It's not okay to resort to name-calling, not okay to engage in personal attack", but I'm not sure if I can go along with the sentence before it.
Damn. I think I've said enough.
End.
P/s: Do pardon my poor English.
I go by the name Princessa (pronounced as Prin-ces-sa) online, you can also call me Sabrina or Princess Sabrina for that matter.

I'm impressed Soup's friend clicked through 490702 advertisements to come to this page (or he/she might just googled for any blogs that talks about "Soup" and "fairy")
"There's nothing wrong with supporting your mates, just state it clearly at the start."
This is rubbish. Sabrina is free to post however she damn please. It's her choice whether to state clearly that she's posting as a good friend of Priss. Also, she might be not be bias, but more of stating that A has mixed up "point 4 and 5" and "point 5 and 6". Because if you read A's post, point 4 and 5 both refers to me, whereas he later states that he was referring to point 5 and 6.

I think Priss and you got me wrong lei... I am not siding with anyone. :(
Step 5 and 6 can refer to isaac and soupcanfairy too. They could have chose to engaged Priss in a reasoned debate, but didn't as well.

You have failed to adequately grasp the situation. And the analysis you've chosen to give, while appearing to be objective and rational, fails to deliver anything apart from a highly one-sided aspect to this.
As I know soupcanfairy personally, and have read what she's written so far, I can only conclude that you, in choosing to represent only one side of the story, are distinctly bias. As such, I recommend that you state that upfront. There's nothing wrong with supporting your mates, just state it clearly at the start.
Besides, I don't think you understood what Alvin was writing. Reread what he's written. Or, at least, stick to something you're decent at. Clearly analysis escapes you.
