Okay, now about the "$50 blog giveaway". Well, this is basically a "$50 blog link contest" conducted by ThePiggyBanker.com, taken from the pages of John Chow's playbook over at JohnChow.com.

To enter, all you have to do is make a post about this contest (like what I'm doing now) and link it to http://www.thepiggybanker.com (with the www, please) using the anchor text "best CD rates”. It's just as simple as that!

I simply love the idea of using the image of a piggy bank to feature this "$50 blog giveaway - blog content"! It somewhat reminds me of the piggy bank I use to have when I was younger...

In the past, I use to have a piggy bank to save up all the $1 coins I had. Whenever the piggy bank was nearly filled, I would pester my mum to bring me to the bank and deposit all the coins in.

If I had not mistaken, it usually takes about 4 months before I could fill it up. During each deposit, the amount could go up to $500! Though it isn't really much, but it's still a form of savings. And well, it works! I mean, do the calculations - 4 months gives me $500, in a year I would have saved roughly $1,500. After roughly 3 years or so of saving, my account had a total of nearly $5,000!

Sadly, as my grew older, the temptation and efforts of keeping that piggy bank grew thin, and slowly I stopped. Tsk. No wonder I'm so broke now...
