Or should I say I've been ODEX-ed by Ping.sg?
Let me define what the "Odex way" is first:
The "Odex way" is to carry out the actions (punishment) as a form of warning.
It's contradicting. I mean, if you're already punished (actions have been taken), how can it still be considered a warning?
In my opinion, warnings shouldn't involve actions already being taken.
For example:
I receive a warning for late payment. The punishment isn't forced upon yet. But if I do not comply with the warning, actions will then be taken.
What I'm trying to imply is that, for Odex, there isn't a warning or a chance to clarify. You just get punished, no questions asked. Kinda like a "do first, talk later" thing.
So, I suppose you'd be wondering how does this relate to Ping.sg? Why am I saying that "Ping.sg adopts the Odex way"?
Well... Earlier on (roughly 3 days ago), I received a 'warning' email from the administrator aka founder of Ping.sg, which states that the pongs for my latest entries have been reset to 0 as a warning for "pong cheating".
Being who I am, apparently "a bitch" as many may put it.
I responded:
Dear Uzyn,
I just read the shoutbox history logs.
Just to let you know, I wasn't looking at the shoutbox so I didn't see your message. So it's not because of your "warning" the hits stopped. It's because there are only that number of people hitting the link at that point of time.
2am in the morning is early for you guys but not for my friends overseas.
They use web proxy to help me pong because ping.sg (the word "ping") is blocked under their network.
*Censored*
It's not a PPP post but it is a paid post. We were chatting so I said "go http://www.ping.sg/user/sabrina and help me increase that post hits.. blah blah blah". It's a direct link to my user section so duh... And in response to them being over weight or not. *Censored*
Don't drag stanley into the picture. The only reason why he uses web proxy is because my company doesn't approve of blog communities or rather blogging in general. He cannot access to the site directly unless he uses his home PC.
And I've mentioned before I get my pongs most of the time not within the registered users in ping. And I've being psycho-ing those people to join ping so when you release the version that forsakes unique ips and recognize userid instead. I still can get some hits. It's lame I admit. It's a friendly competition me and stanley have for cheap thrills.
Cheerz.
P/s: Pardon the "censored" portions.
He replied back:
So who am I suppose to thank?
Oh well... It's over and done, no hard feelings. But next time, if similar cases were to occur, probably wanna actually WARN first so people have a chance to clarify?
The whole "it's a misunderstanding" thing can really become rather annoying.

i do not agree with the methods uzyn used but he is definitely a gentlemen to accept the mistakes and make amendments to it.
human errors happen all the time. the point is to learn from them and move on. as for odex clearly they learnt it the hard way with all that bad publicity their getting.

odex is a verb now? so funny.
i wonder what the odex guy would feel if he reads this? probably he'd flip. anything goes bad and odex comes into the picture. hahah

I think your entry title was a low blow. If you are so unhappy with ping.sg, you should stop pinging your entries to ping.sg. I agree with DK, time to move on.
