Have you ever wonder whether those outrageous cases seen on TV hospital dramas are can actually happen in reality?

You may not but apparently Glamour, UK Edition, has.

To seek the "truth", Glamour actually went to consult experts and the experts came up with examples from 3 different "cases".

Case 1 - House

A man and his wife come into the hospital with herpes. Dr. House suggests that they could have caught it from a public toilet

Reality Check: Surprise, surprise. This is NOT likely to happen girls and boys. Apparently "Herpes" spreads through sexual and skin-to-skin contact.

So, basically it's not realistic to say that they could have caught it from a public toilet.

"The virus dies very quickly when outside the body, so it is close to impossible to contract it from toilets. The virus causes no recognized symptoms but it is highly contagious", says gynecological consultant, Mr. Peter Bowen-Simpkins.

Case 2 - Grey's Anatomy

A women who has two uteruses is pregnant in both

Reality Check: Sounds impossible but it is. In fact, 3 years ago a Romanian women gave birth prematurely to one baby then had a second child 2 months later from a second uterus.

As if one pregnancy at a time isn't enough eh?

"It is possible for a woman to have two uteruses, so technically she could get pregnant in both. However, this is very rare", says Dr. Donald Peebles, a consultant obstetrician at University College, London.

Case 3 - Scrubs

A man has been experimenting with erectile dysfunction pills (Vigra) and can't reverse the effects

Reality Check: Yet again, it can happen. There are always risks when using erectile-enhancing medication as the results can last longer then you may have hoped. (And in case you've mistaken, longer means bad.)

"There can be serious long-term implications if the effects last more then four hours without treatment", says Rosemary Thompson, a consultant nurse at the Erectile Dysfunction Clinic, Hull.

Interesting to know eh? Okay. Perhaps not.

P/s: The above is kinda a mix and match of Glamour's words, my own words, and of course, additional "research materials" I gathered online.
