(No offense whatsoever.)
In today's episode, Deadpris of deadpris.com files for a ban against defendant ShadowFox of I-don't-give-a-damn for manipulating, distorting and propagating views of anti-homosexuality to the Ping.sg community.
Defendant is represented by TMS.
Court in session.
Deadpris vs. ShadowFox, 2008
Deadpris says:
He is using the community platform, Ping.sg, to manipulate and distort and propagate views of anti-homosexuality. Don't give me the bullshit on freedom of speech, this IS Singapore and we have very little freedom of speech here in any case. And, we do not tolerate discrimination here.
TMS says:
I am never in favor for a blanket ban but it seems ShadowFox's blog may indeed be quite offensive.
But Deadpris, why call Uzyn to ban ShadowFox when Ping.sg already have features that you can use to show you aghast at ShadowFox.
As the judge of this session. I remain neutral against both parties.
As you can see, I have not yet made verdict to this case cause it's the jury's job.
So now, as readers, you are the jury. Your task is simple - TELL ME YOUR VERDICT!
The court is adjourned, session is move forward to April 16, 2008 at 1800. (If I even bother.)
*Yawnz* ShadowFox is a celebrity and all our attention is on him? Geez.

I think it is disappointing that we take offence so easily. Ultimately we should learn not to take react so easily to any slight or perceived slight. Yes anti-homosexuality is stupid, irrelevant, and should be throughly shouted out against. But, I also do believe that by giving such people exposure, we are giving them credence. Ignore, and they'll go away. Something the Gov't could do well to learn, for if one viewpoint's the best/the right one, time will bear out those words, and crushing dissent only reinforces the weakness of a person's position.

Deadpris sounds exactly like the government when they want to limit information and debate: quoting rationale like going down a slippery slope, protecting the young and people who haven’t formed opinions from being brainwashed. We always say we want to be treated like mature adults, capable of forming our own opinions about what's right and wrong. If she doesn't like what Shadowfox is saying (and I’m not too hot about him either), she should debate it in the open.
