Aaaahhh... Nooo... Should I get it or should I not?
Okay. Here's the deal.
I've read from DailyTech, that earlier "today" they brought news about the Eee PC 1000, thanks to a leaked from an "observant" Hexus employee. And thanks to blogeee.net, they even have the images of the new 10" Asus Eee PC 1000!

As per said, the new and upgrade Eee PC 1000 carries on the same new design introduced with the Eee PC 901, albeit on a larger scale.
Note this:
The biggest change notable should be the significantly larger keyboard. The original Eee PC 701 and Eee PC 900/901 featured a tiny, cramped keyboard that many have complained about. The Eee PC 1000, however, joins the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC with a 92% full-size keyboard.

Honestly, I don't really fancy the HP mini, mainly cause it's not in pink/white. And it does kinda look a little big. But oh well.
DailyTech says:
The increased dimensions of the Eee PC 1000 make it a bit closer in size to the MSI Wind which has garnered a lot of attention over the past few weeks. The increased physical dimensions also mean that weight is also up significantly for the newest Eee PC family member.
Larger in size means heavier in weight - makes sense. But then again, if I'm going for something heavier, I might as well not go for something that is supposedly compact?
DailyTech says:
Whereas the original Eee PC 701 and Eee PC 900 hovered around the two-pound mark, the Eee PC 1000 weighs in at a "hefty" 3.19 pounds. This compares to 2.42 pounds and 2.88 pounds respectively for the 3-cell and 6-cell versions of the MSI Wind.
This is why I was totally crazy over the Eee PC at first. I mean it's LESS THEN 1KG! Totally portable. But now, with a close to 50% increase in weight. What's the point of getting it?
Duh. My current Xiao Bai (also Asus) is like 1.6kg for god sake.
Oh well. That concludes it. No Eee PC upgrades for me.
(Hmmm... Perhaps I should change the title to "Why I shouldn't get an upgrade?")
P/s: Nonetheless, I wouldn't mind reviewing a set though. ;x
I go by the name Princessa (pronounced as Prin-ces-sa) online, you can also call me Sabrina or Princess Sabrina for that matter.

I agree - most ppl buy the EEE PC for its weight & portability. But for this price, its a lil way too heavy.

Well, depends on what you call small. I'm 6.'1 guy and in the market for a small ultra portable. The smaller eeePC 700/900 are just too tiny for my big fat fingers but the 1000 should be just about right for me.

You should get an upgrade! The issue of portability isnt really a concern. My girlfriend has been tugging one around (the white version) and she says it's not heavy at all.
It's less than 1 KG, which is really no problem.

Did someone mentioned 2 years GLOBAL warranty?
Can someone verify...
I really want to buy a new EPC-1000 but seems like they only have local warranty.
