Here's a question that Mashable brought up:
"Will Technorati, a long time leader in blog search, see its market share eaten up by an open, mobile text messaging platform?"
(Duh. Twitter.)
In case you didn't know - Twitter is a service for sharing text updates with friends proved itself a veritable rapid-transit system for breaking news, and soon it was this microcontent production house, not the blogosphere, that became the check-digit for the established blogging pro.
Anyhow.
As quoted:
Yes, Google Blog Search was a harsh blow for the once prominent blog search engine, but Technorati's greater failing was to turn a blind eye when the breaking conversation moved to a different medium: microblogging.
For those who aren't sure of the term "microblogging", according to Wikipedia:
Micro-blogging is a form of blogging that allows users to write brief text updates (usually less than 200 characters) and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user. These messages can be submitted by a variety of means, including text messaging, instant messaging, email, MP3 or the web.
Well. That's that. Moving along now...
What do you think? Did it really?
I mean, I Twitter. So does that mean I'll go full force into mirco-blogging?
Is a 140 letter restriction really sufficient for me to rant about what going on? Is there no more need to write long-winded entries about how one thing may s*x to it's ultimate core?
What's my point? Hmmm...
I guess after reading Mashable's entry, like 3 times over, I'm kinda confused. (Then again, I should really read the bottom half of the entry more clearly.)
What are we talking about anyway? The comparison of the fastest news source? Twitter has search engines?!
OMG! I feel anicent all of a sudden. What's Summize. Tweetscan and Terraminds?
Okay. Enough questions. I guess to summarize it all...
Yes, I guess Technorati's just about has to suffer a lose in their market share. I mean, even if it's not Twitter, I'm sure some other application is gonna be create or has already been creat that would.

Months ago I started getting more into blogging, and social networking, but for some reason Technorati didn't interest me. I finally signed up and from what I gather it was a great service but as of late everytime I log in it's slow or not loading correctly like they have some major issues in the back ground.
If the people at Technorati were smart they would purchase a micro-blogging company because they need the mouth piece.
