Disclaimer: When I say SOME, I mean SOME. Plus, of course, I am sooo NOT targeting any individual - try not to read too much into my words.

The "blogging community" is rapidly expanding to the extend that bloggers are somewhat recognized as an alternative means of "media coverage".

In fact, to some individuals, "blogging" has already become a career/occupation to!

Here's the thing - bloggers come in all shape and sizes. (I sooo do not mean this in a bad way.)

SOME short like *ahem* Nadnut (please don't kill me, murder is an offense in the eyes of the law), SOME too tall for their age (e.g. Isaac), SOME pretty like *I refuse to mention names cause those whom I don't mention would probably hate me for not mentioning them*, SOME *blah blah blah* so on and so forth.

In the past year or so, I've met up with quite a number of bloggers. (And by quite, it's to the extend there are many names/nicks I can't even remember - no offense.)

SOME totally worthwhile knowing, yet on the other hand, SOME like *ahem ahem* aren't worth keeping in my friend's list, mentioning, and/or even remembering for that matter of fact. (Yes, you know who you are! Or not.)

Geez. I seriously have a problem - I seem to be always drifting off to nothing-ness! Bugger. Oh well.

Anyhow.

My point is - after meeting such a wide variety of bloggers, I've come to realise that you really can't judge a book by... It's content?

Hmmm... Doesn't exactly sound right, does it?

Strange enough, blogs being a somewhat means of recording an individuals' experience/opinions, seemingly aren't able to accurately present an individual for who he/she actually am in person.

I understand that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but we're talking about content here. Even the content isn't accurate enough for us to place judgment? Bummer.

Quite scary if you think about it.

I mean, you thought you somewhat knew someone relatively well, based on how he/she presents him/herself in his/her blog, but when you meet the person up... They're like a totally different person altogether!

That is why sometimes, if I really do like the way one blogs, I'm a little reluctant to actually get to know the person, IN person!

You have no idea if he/she is actually real in their blog, which may change your opinion towards the individual and forever tarnish the image you've created!

A good example would be - Veron.

If you don't already know, Veron is one of the few bloggers I admire (to a certain extend). The thing is, I can actually get to know her a little better - since she kinda linked to individuals that I'm somewhat "familiar" with.

The thing is...

I can, but I wouldn't want to.

As mentioned, if I really got to know her, I might not admire her just as much as I do right now.

This may sound ridiculous to you but for example - let's say Pris somewhat becomes Singapore MOST popular and influential blogger.

Sadly, simply because I know her personally (rather well in fact), there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that I would ever admire her the way I admire Veron.

You know what I mean?

(It's really all in the mind I guess.)

So yes, one may be extremely entertaining in this virtual zone we call the blogosphere, but they are in fact, really common and not at all entertaining individuals in reality.
