OMG! Have you heard? It is like totally ridiculous.

(This is not a good look for the Ferrari...)

Okay, I heard Glenn Ong and The Flying Dutchman mention something about it on 95FM radio sometime ago (or even today), but didn't really bother looking up on it. After reading TMS's post,

Update: MY Mercedes robbers hit SG Ferrari couple

The main Malaysia English papers provided a few updates on the Ferrari robbery that happened on Friday.

Apparently the couple was robbed of valuables and cash worth RM150,000, the robbers used fake registration plates and pretended to be customs officers.

I decided to take a better look at it.

According to The New Straits Times,

The Ferrari, with a couple inside, had collided with a car before a few men wearing caps with the Customs Department logo arrived in a Mercedes Benz and robbed them.

Geez. Is it the Formula 1 fever or something, Mercedes Benz and Ferrari...

Seriously what are the odds of an encounter with robbers driving up in a Mercedes, in broad daylight? What happened to the classic motorbike gang rounding up a vehicle?

Could it be that they knew a Ferrari couple was coming their way and just to rob them, they decided to steal a Mercedes first so as to be able to keep up with the ever so expensive, and ever so fast, Ferrari?

"We are investigating if the accident was staged, and we have information that the victims were followed from Johor. But they might not realise it because the suspects were in a Mercedes Benz," Zaki said yesterday.

See, see! They probably knew they were coming!

I mean, if the robbers actually owned the Mercedes why would they rob... ANYONE?

Yes, comparing a Ferrari to a Mercedes, a Ferrari is definite 1 tier higher. But to be able to own a Mercedes you're kinda telling the world "I'm not poor!" (Though... I'd have to say "valuables and cash worth RM150,000" could probably get you...)

Anyhow.

According to The Star,

Police are appealing to people who saw a Singaporean couple in a Ferrari being robbed along the North-South Expressway near here last Friday to help in investigations.

Right. People, people, people! Do the right thing kay?!
