The Christmas tree is one of the most popular traditions associated with the celebration of Christmas. The custom can be traced to 16th century Germany, though the sole origin for the tradition could not be identified.

During the days around Christmas, an evergreen coniferous tree is used as the Christmas tree and is decorated with Christmas lights and colourful ornaments. An angel or star is often placed at the top of the tree, representing the host of angels or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity story.

The first Christmas tree for this segment was spotted at the Atrium of Takashimaya on December 6th.

The bear (Teddybear) and I were hanging out at Orchard and we crossed path with StarHub's Christmas road-show.

Since we're already at the entrance of the shopping complex, we decided to step in for a bit.

The Christmas tree stood in the middle of the Atrium standing four stories tall. It was a yearly tradition for Takashimaya to put up its flagship Christmas tree, with a huge star right at the top.

For such a majestic tree, its ornaments and decor are kept reasonably simple each year. This time round, they have white snow flakes sprinkled all around and baubles in red and pink.

You know what I love most about this tree? I like the fact that although the decor appears a little clustered, it doesn't give me the messy look. Instead it is very much soothing to my eyes.

But what impresses me the most would definitely be its size (I don't always like it small). Almost always the tree claims the throne as the tallest in Singapore.

Before I forget, did you notice a baby in the first photo?

"It" isn't mine (duh), in case that crossed your mind. Like I said, I wasn't exactly the only one snapping away on my camera. Many others were there as well, and this child's parents weren't an exception.

PS: Admittedly, the photos (that I took myself) aren't exactly the best of quality. I'm not using a DSLR after all, and my Canon PowerShot E1 (and yes its pink) does kinda have its limitations.
