While meeting the bear for lunch at Suntec, we (Priss, the bear and myself) were given the opportunity to spot the second Christmas tree for this segment - displayed at the ground floor of Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The thing that caught my eye about this tree was the full set of Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel stuffed toys put together to form the middle layer.

I remember a couple of years back, McDonald's sold these along with their extra value meals. It sparked quite a frenzy among Singaporeans to collect them, and admittedly, I was one of "them".

I was totally gaga over those toys. I even threw a huge temtrum, insisting that I had to have the complete set otherwise ...!

The results were favourable, I guess. To accommodate to my wishes, my mum got my maid to queue up at the nearby McDonald's, every night before a new pair was released. (It kinda sells out very quickly back then.)

Ahhh... Those were the days.

That aside, the other thing that caught my attention were the teddybears at the bottom layer.

I am but a bear, but a bear, but a bear. As a member of the family of bears it is needless to say that I love bears and my bear loves me. Hurhur.

Anyway, other then being merely a collection of warm, cuddly, adorable, fuzzy stuffed toys, put together to form a tree. This Christmas tree happens to be very special to quite a number of pre-school children.

Fact is, Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre was spearheading a charity drive to support the pre-school children from the Metta Welfare Association by embarking on its first-ever "Teddy Bear and Stuffed Toys" Round Up Drive.

The goal of the campaign is to collect used or partially used teddybears and stuffed toys to spread the holiday cheer and to comfort the children with special needs.

The first couple of photos in this entry were taken on December 12th. When I went over to take a look today (was kinda hanging out at Suntec with the bear), it was different.

Apart from just moving from one spot to another, there were significantly more stuffed toys.

According to the a sign, the charity drive seems rather successful.

A total of 3,578 teddybears and stuff toys were received! How kewl is that!

Meaningful and interesting Christmas tree it is, wouldn't you say?

Hmmm... I wonder where all my Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel went after we moved. Hopefully their somewhere in those boxes that I've yet had the time to unpack. Otherwise, who knows. I might lose my temper again? (I'm kidding of course.)

PS: Photos were taken using my Canon PowerShot E1 (in pink). :P
