Constantly attending events is part of a writer/blogger's life. Sometimes, to cover a worthy event, we need to source for our own events to attend. Fortunately, that happens to be something I'm more than capable of handling since having Queen's English isn't one of my merits.
Before I proceed to the details of the City Alive event, let me first take this opportunity to thank my best friend Priss for informing me and SPRG for extending out the invitation to this event.
*Ahem* The media event on "City Alive!" was held at TigerLive (Gallery Bar), located at St James Power Station (3 Sentosa Gateway, #01-02, Singapore 098544).
Arriving on site a little later than expected, I find myself pretty lucky to have not missed much of the performance yet - I kinda missed the presentation speeches though.
Before I move on, let me first give you a little information on what the City Alive is about. According to the press release (which I had to read since I missed the presentation speeches), the City Alive is the "biggest and funkiest" street party of its kind in Singapore organised by the People's Association (PA) and People's Association Youth Movement (PAYM).
This year, in conjunction with Chingay Parade Singapore 2009, the City Alive will be held on January 31st from 9.30pm to 3am along St Andrew's Road. At the party, while you enjoy tipple from Tiger Beer, you'd be expecting the appearance of international renowned (female) DJ extraordinaires from London and Tokyo, a local top DJ, the Hippo bus as a prominent party feature, and etc...
Sound exciting doesn't it? I'll reveal a little more details (e.g. ticket pricing and where to get them) in the later part of this entry.
(Back to the event) Upon arrival, I was led to the second floor where the event was actually held. Escorting me was a representative from SPRG, an external publicist for City Alive.
Up on the second floor, as mentioned, the "press conference" part of the afternoon was pretty much over.
Fortunately, the performance segment of the event had just begun.
First up, we had a special performance by the winners of Funkamania XIII.
After that, we had an exclusive showcase of DJ KoFlow (the local "top" DJ).
Pardon me for not providing sufficient amount of photos. I only have one pair of hands; it's a little tough to take photos and video at the same time. :(
To wrap up the event, we had the "photo-taking session", a little food and drinks (I was driving so I got myself a Sprite instead of a Tiger).
Now, as promised, here is the ticketing information:
Advance tickets: SGD15 (Passion cardholders), SGD20 (others)
Event day tickets: SGD28 (cash only)Note: Ticket price includes one drink.

If you want to find out more details on the event, you can check out www.cityalive.sg and/or www.paym.org.sg.
PS: I'll plug in the images on a later date. ;x
