Attending the Blogger Beauty Workshop by Stage Cosmetics was truly an eye opening experience - especially for moi, someone that hardly (or rather, never, if you go through the hideous photos of me) puts on make-up.

The event was held on a Monday afternoon, January 19, 2009, at Stage, Suntec City Mall (3 Temasek Boulevard #01-121). The trainer for this workshop was John Harold Boudville, Education Manager of Alliance Cosmetics Group.

Unfortunately, but of course, expectedly, there will always be a couple of clowns that decides to turn up late and hold everyone up - yes Peggy, thank you very much. (I’m meaning this as a joke of course.)

Thankfully, the people from Stage had it all planned out, and while waiting for the lots, we were treated to donuts (aka doughnuts) - perfect, since I haven’t had lunch.

The donuts were great, of course, but it kinda feels weird to be faced with donuts and cosmetics at the same time. It’s like beauty or desire (donuts)? Tough decision really. Eventually, I picked desire over beauty, well this time round at least.

For those who notice, I’m not a “cosmetics” kinda gal, as in I don’t really wear make-up 99% of the time - the 1% involves like a die-die-have-to situations.

Just for the record, I have nothing against cosmetics. I’m just lazy to put them on. With or without will not change the fact that for no bloody reason people will still “eat full full nothing better to do” and mock me for my external non-existence beauty that I NEVER said I had - yes, I am referring to “that” incident *cough*. Plus, of course, being a person that is never on time, an extra 30 minutes to an hour of possible delay is probably not the best choice to make. Furthermore, I have a 99% chance of screwing up with my make-up. ~>.<~

(Responding to what the lady in black said) Mac-what? For a second there, I thought the lady was talking about McDonald’s or something. Clearly I wasn’t much of a cosmetics brand follower. It was when she mentioned about the Revlon event that I remembered, and finally understood why I was invited today.

That explains why Feliza, Fidelis and Peggy were invited too. By the way, I would like to add that I love these girls to bits. Their like the nicest blogger-girl-friends I have. (For the record, I have known Priss since our Counter-Strike days, when blogs won’t consider a term yet. So I wouldn’t exactly consider her a “blogger-girl-friend”… You get what I mean.)

Oh man, I’m so off point here.

(Back to the workshop) Upon arrival, I was given a press release and an “Agreement of Usage of Photos”. First thoughts were, “agreement of WHAT?” “What the hell is that for?” - No offence, I tend to react mentally pure on impulse.

As I read on, it had to do with basically having no rights to the photos that were taken by their own professional photographer. “Ah… That made sense”. Then again, 90% of the time, I never get to even see the photos taken by the photographers of the company that organises the events - the 10% is usually because of Willy from LiveStudios.

Point is, I have nothing against that. But of course, if the photos turned out horrible, I would appreciate if they Photoshop-ed it first before using it on whatever materials they feel the need of using it for.

Here’s a good question to ask, what is Stage?

I’m sure most of you out there have heard of Mac, Dior, Revlon and so on so forth, righto? Well, Stage is (duh) a cosmetics brand.

Clearly I cannot remember word-for-word what the lady in black said, so… According to the press release:

And we sure did feel like stars, or at least some of us did.

So now, we know that Stage is a brand and how the story goes, so what about the workshop?

(Back to the workshop, again) When everyone was ready, filled with donuts in our tummies, and waited more then half and hour for Peggy, we decided to forsake the late-comers and begin the beauty experience.

A little chit chat, some introductions and of course a couple of laughs, all that’s left is to remove all the make-up on all the ladies’ faces and apply Stage cosmetics on them.

For being a non-make-up-ee, I had the honour of continuing to enjoy my donut while the rest suffered their fates of removing the make-up they spend probably more then half an hour applying.

In the midst of all the chaos, dear Peggy (and company, Xiaoxue) walked in, looking pretty pissed - which is not relevant at all?

(The art of everyday beauty) It took a while for everyone to remove their make-up and for me to finish my donut but all went well and the “educational” part of the workshop began.

To begin, we approached the face first.

A total of four areas to be concerned of with a total of 14 steps to make… *Ouch* Not exactly what I’d consider baby steps, really. The worst part of it all is that it’s a workshop. In other words, most of what on my face then, was applied by ME!

Fortunately, all turned out pretty okay. At least I didn’t have to immediate remove the make-up or hide my head in a paper bag. Hurhur.

Before we called it a day, it was PHOTO SESSION TIME!

My Teddybear says I look good in my getup but honestly speaking, if I knew there would be a need for a full body shot I would have definitely worn something that would cover my oversized legs. Oh well.

Oh yeah, before we (Priss and me) left, I decided to grab some more food!

Look at the colourful tarts... How could I resist?

PS: So many photos... So little time...

PPS: (FYI) The "better quality" photos were taken using my Canon PowerShot E1, the "noisy" ones were taken using Priss's Casio donno-what. Hurhur!
