I fancy bringing up ancient history it seems. What can I say, I'm the sentimental kinda fool.
(Back to October 2008) The week before I left for Korea, I had the honour to attend the launch of two new Sony Ericsson’s mobile phones. The event was held at a club situated at the roof top of The Central, Helipad, and they had Pei Fen, a 933 DJ, as their host.
Note: I didn't get the blogger's invite, which is why I wrote about it in Gadget3.com, but not here.
There were couple of activities happening that day and Sony Ericsson was giving away five sets of mobile phones to five lucky guests. Here are the three methods to win:
1. The first with the correctly guess which photo (out of the 9) was taken with the C905 camera-phone
2. Lucky draw
3. Answering a simple question with reference to a cool 9-part series on "who is johnny X?"
I didn't participate in this, not because I didn't know the answers but... Well, I just didn't. I was in the "I didn't think I would win" kinda mood, I guess.
So exactly, who is johnny X?

Your guess is as good as mine. :P
There were display units set up at the corner of Helipad and when time came for hands-on, I waited for awhile so that I didn’t have to queue to play with the phones.
There were two phones showcased were the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.
The C905 Cyber-shot phone is a 8.1 megapixel camera with Xenon flash. Claudia (a blogger) said,
"I fiddled with the phone for awhile and still prefers the touch and style of my Innov8. But the Xenon flash should be much better than the one on the Innov8."
The Xperia X1 is a arc-slider multimedia phone that comes with a roomy 3-inch clear WVGA display and a wide pitch full QWERTY keypad.
According to Sony Ericsson, this handset went through the "Hopper test", to ensure that the phone can do everything that a user would want to do.
Claudia mentioned,
"Like all press events, bloggers usually stays together and try not to get in the way of the journalists and other guests from the press."
This time round, I found myself a little out of place. I wasn't sure if I were to hang out with the bloggers clique or the media ones. I am a blogger but today, I was representing Gadget3 instead. In the end, I spent most of the time with Justin, who was there with me on behalf of PC Magazine Singapore.
My after thoughts? I haven't exactly had a "hands on" with the two handsets, so I can't say much about it. However, I most definitely enjoyed the fruit juice served. Hurhur.
