Prime Minister Mori meets President Barack Obama

I'm still trying to figure out where this is a joke or for real. But anyway, I got this off Winnie's blog.

Apparenlty, a few days ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets President Barack Obama.

The instructor told Mori Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Obama, please say, "How are you?" Then Mr. Obama should say, "I am fine, and you?" Now, you should say, "Me too."

Afterward we, the translators, will do the work for you.

It looks quite simple, but the truth is...

When Mori met Obama, he mistakenly said, "Who are you?" (Instead of "How are you?")

Mr. Obama was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor, "Well, I'm Michelle's husband, ha-ha..." Then Mori replied, "Me too, ha-ha..."

Get it?

This is half true. The prime minister of Japan is not Mori...it's Noato Kan. Mori was the prime minister of Japan from 2000-2001. So solely based on that...one can tell this is not a true story.

However, this is something I heard that Mori actually did years ago before Obama was even in the public spotlight. The story was exactly the same...except the names were Bill and Hillary Clinton. Not Barack and Michelle.
