People I know generally love weekends. Reason being, they don't have to go to work or school. But for those, like myself, that don't do anything on a full-time basis, weekends are like every other day of the week. In fact, I prefer weekdays. It's so much less crowded. The downside however... I don't have anyone to hang out with. Irony.

This weekend has been pretty fruitful (or so I say). It wasn't jam packed with lotsa stuff to do, but I managed to get the stuff that I needed to do, done.

The top of my to-do list happened to be visiting my grandfather in the hospital, and yes, using my Inuovi vouchers that Eugene (from Nuffnang) passed to Priss, to pass to me, the week before - it expires on October 18th.

So now, the to-do list:

1. Visit my grandfather in the hospital (with the folks)
2. Use my Inuovi vouchers
3. Collect my Rozen Maiden costume
4. Watch a lot of TV
5. Watch even more TV

Same goes for 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Okay, so I kinda only had to do three things. But fyi, TV happens to be a very important and big part of my life. Missing a programme, that I just have to watch, is like missing my child's first words (no, I don't have a child and I'm not married). It's a complicated relationship.

Anyway, the top of the list (visiting my grandfather) didn't follow through. We were suppose to go on Saturday, but my mum changed it to Sunday. After I made plans, she changed it back. Finding out that I made plans, she changed it again. And come Sunday, she had to go back to work. Long story short, it just didn't follow through. Enough said.

Saturday started late. I'm back to my old habits again - sleeping late. Finally when I got out of bed, I went straight to my comfy sofa, in the living room, in front of my awesome TV; switched the TV on, grabbed my notebook and turned it on, and started watching TV while writing my blog entries.

I'm very enthusiastic about my gadget blog these days. I've been spending so much more time on it than any other blog. I guess I somewhat miss the "good old days" at the mag. I was kinda working for a gadget magazine that kinda turned lifestyle.

Anyway, by 5pm, most of the shows were on repeat, my eyes were getting tired from reading, and my brain got tired thinking of words to write (or rather type). Took a bath, made the necessary phone calls, and I set out to strike things off my to-do list.

VivoCity is like shopping heaven, but Suntec happened to have everything I needed - my costume and Inuovi.

Here's the story about my costume - Suigintou from Rozen Maiden. I ordered the costume roughly three months ago. It was meant for the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention, held back in August 2009. Due to some miscommunication, it led to a major delay, which I wasn't too pleased about but didn't really pursue, much.

The week before, the guy called up and said the costume was finally ready and I could come down any time to collect it. I went down, as told, but ending up leaving empty handed.

Apparently I was a S-size (totally shocker), but not all of the costume fit - the vest was one size too small around the arms area. I was given three options:

1. Alter it myself
2. Change for a L-size (they didn't have stock for M)
3. Get a refund

I went for option two eventually. L and M really wasn't much of a difference, and it's only the vest. Plus, I waited three months, I wasn't gonna to leave with nothing. I had to have my Rozen Maiden costume!

I went back this week, thinking that it's only the vest that was gonna be two size larger (since the rest fit). Sadly, it wasn't the case. It seems, they don't sell pieces of a costume in different sizes. Bummer, should have mentioned it earlier, really.

So, alter everything or just one vest - it made more sense to just alter one piece. It's a pretty duh question really.

I was hoping that the previous piece would still be around, but it wasn't. I wasn't exactly sure, they either sold it, returned it, or something like that. Point is, it wasn't AVAILABLE!

I was pretty upset... but took it anyway. So yes, I got my costume but it wasn't the right size.

Nothing in this world is ever perfect, I've accepted it. So that was that. And Inuovi was next.

Shocker again! The bear actually knew where the boutique was located - one floor below, near the escalator. He is such a shopoholic! It was (and still is) strange how he knew where a cosmetic outlet was. Males and cosmetics aren't exactly mejor amigos (best friends). I really have to hand it to him, he's like a walking shopping directory.

I hardly ever shop for cosmetics. Most of what I have came from the goodie bags given out during beauty events. I'd probably not wear foundation (like ever), eye-shadow made most sense.

I was going for something blue to match my blue costume. But by the time I headed to the counter, I had a whitish-glittery one for the base and a pinkish one for colour. It's good for everyday wear. The only problem was that I don't wear make-up all that often (or ever), unless it's a "required" occasion.

By the time all was good and done, the dinner plans made were kinda impossible. The bear had to get home by ten for his football match, and it was nine.

Using the art of persuasion - offering to send him home (he wasn't driving, usually he does) - dinner plans were back on and we had sushi at Sakae! I totally dig Jap-food.

Okay, so Saturday ended.

Sunday... started late too. I slept two hours earlier but still ended up waking at noon. I am such a bum.

The whole day went by "like that". My mum went to work (meaning no hospital visit) and I watched TV. At about 8pm, we went out for dinner.

I know how this looks. It's like a total waste of a perfectly good day. But it wasn't really. Even though it started even later than the day before, that three hours out gave me time to do a little shopping and have an excellent dinner. I bought a keyboard (not a piano keyboard, a computer keyboard)!

The plan was to try out the cheese bake rice at Simei. Unfortunately, after all that "shopping", by the time we arrived at the doorstep of the cafe, it was closed. Pity really, I kinda wanted to get over and done with that place and never go back. Many reasons for it, none of which I wish to discuss.

We still had dinner, just not at the intended location - went all the way to Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe, Heartland Mall.

Explain this to me, why is it we are willing to pay SGD8.50+++ for maggie mee that is perhaps the simplest dish to prepare? I really can't figure it out. Every single time I have that dish, every single time I question myself the same thing. Yet, the next time, I still order the exact same dish! Self-created tradition perhaps?

PS: The day ended with me typing this entry.

PPS: Yes, there are photos and it will be uploaded... soon.
