Spending the Halloween at home... typing away. Which entry should I start on first? The Nuffnang Blog Awards, the passing of a love one and creation of a black bouquet, finally receiving the photos from the Canon event I attended back in September, the L'Oreal Paris event, my new Canon 500D (yes a DSLR) camera, the Skechers outlet grand opening, etc.

It's just so hard to decide. Then again, who says there's a need to make a decision just quite yet, right?

Yes, it has to be done. It has to be done soon. But it doesn't have to be now.

TV, oh sweet sweet TV. How I love watching the pictures appearing on screen. How I love the classic cartoon, The Simpsons. How I love the non-stop Simpsons Halloween marathon. The meaningless, absolutely ridiculous, complete waste of time...

This is how I'm spending my Halloween. Some may find it ironic but who has the right to judge what I prefer. Although, I wouldn't say that it was a choice. It's more of an alternative since there's no one around to celebrate this horror season with me.

Let me now ask you this question. Do you know how Halloween came about?

According to the writers, the geniuses behind The Simpsons, Halloween came about... well... when Marge was forced to jump off a cliff with a broom in her hands. If she falls to her death, she is innocent of the accusation. If she flies off on the broom, she is a witch and shall be prosecuted - with death sentence!

Ironically, she was a witch. And she flew back up not to report to her doom but to punish them, the people of Springfield.

Ears-dropping on a conversation, the witches decided to eat the children (capturing them first of course), the young of the town. However, when visiting the first home, the mother offered gingerbread children in exchange for their children's life. It was agreed and they continued scaring town folks for treats (candy and all). From then on, Halloween came to be and the practice of scaring people for treats came about.

There is no truth to this tale of course. But it is remarkably well thought plot wouldn't you think?
