A picture paints a thousand words, they say. And they are probably right. Even if you have forgotten the details of an event, pictures seemingly help make out the scenes.

I can vaguely remember what was said during the bloggers' lunch with L'Oreal Paris at Forlino Restaurant, One Fullerton. But I remember having good food, wonderful conversations, Jacelyn by my side, Peggy coming late (based on the many photos taken without Peggy being in them), and other details here and there.

I had no idea what this was all about initially. Peggy was the invitee, and I was her guest. Coincidentally, Jacelyn happened to be attending the lunchie as well, and having met her for an event before that, we went together.

We were slightly behind schedule, having a make-over done by Sasa while attending the FAFW ASH Showcase.

Arriving, we were led through a nicely decorated corridor. The kind that makes you feel as though you were in a castle and finding a chamber where royalty rests.

We approached Serena, opened and entered to see a beautifully room with a mix of golden decorations and a long dining table with the ladies seated around it.

Presentation equipment was all set up. Ready to give ladies a earful.

The whole setting was casual, even though the venue was pretty glam. The ladies (bloggers I reckon) were all with smiles and the "handlers" (ladies as well, from L'Oreal) were very friendly. It was more like a gathering of old friends really.

The presentation took the least amount of time. Majority of it was spent feasting and chit chatting.

According to the menu, we were to be served a 5-course meal, and it came with choices.

A snack (which wasn't on the menu) came first. It was no ordinary bread, or so I hear.

Then the course started. The first on the menu was:

"Amuse Bouche" which stands for "a small bite before the meal begins" and/or "greeting of the Chef de cuisine".

Second:

Green Asparagus, Fennel and Green Apple Salad with Autumn Truffle, or

Carrot Cream Soup with Ginger and Watercress Foam?

I went for the soup since salad wasn't exactly my cup of tea.

Third:

Tagliolini with Chantarelle Mushrooms and Blueberry, with no other options.

Fourth:

Poached Wild Salmon with White Asparagus and Terragon Sauce, or

Veal Lion with Slow-cooked Artichokes, Extra Virgin Oil and Mashed Potatoes.

I went for veal, having had fish practically every other day lately.

Fifth, as well as the last on the list:

Saffron Jelly with Strawberries and Balsamic Ice-cream, which was a complete delight!

But before the food came to an end, sweet treats were served!

And boy were they good!

But to make it truly a beauty experience, we had the option of getting a manicure done! Look how pleased Beatrice looks (like nadnut, she is one of the MJ girls too).

Everyone here were beauty fanatics, all but me... my journey had begun, and it will continue.

Inevitably the purpose of this get together was tuned to the release of a new range of beauty products, the L'Oreal Paris Pore Minimising Smoother - it comes in three.

And thanks to the gracious host, we were all given a set to bring home and try. Perfect for me really, considering I'm using whatever's in the bathroom. Sometimes, merely soap.

All blogger events should be like this.

PS: With all the food and photos, I was very much tempted to write this as an "review" of Forlino. But decided not to as it wouldn't be fair to L'Oreal or to readers. This was an event, therefore it is good to say that more effort went into the preparing the food and perfecting the service. So... I am definitely visiting Forlino again!

PSS: Will talk about the product on a later date. For now you can check out Debx's entry for more details.
