After almost 5 years staying free from public transportation (excluding cabs), the record has officially been broken! Wahahahaha.

You can call me silly, I don't care. I admit, I was quite amused about having to take the MRT with the bear. Excited in fact.

The bear and I have been together for about 2 years. Throughout this period of time, I dare say that we've never once resorted to traveling via public transport. Come to think of it, we've never even taken a cab if not for the trip to Penang.

I don't particularly like crowded areas. My tolerance to noise is pretty low.

Our adventure took place on the eve of New Year's eve. It was the holiday season and the town area was pretty packed. There were so many people and cars you could barely see the ground. It was terrible.

Having only 2 hours to spare before the bear had to meet his NTU friends, I was forced to make the decision of my life:

1. Drop the white iPhone 16G search and do it another day with the bear
2. Drive to the next location and continue the search myself
3. Take the MRT and continue the search with the bear

First option meant that I'd probably not be able to get my very own iPhone before the new year. Second option meant that I was on my own... all along. Third meant... yes, public transportation. It was a tough decision and I ended up picking the third option.

We were at Plaza Singapura. From there, we headed to the MRT station, bought a ticket, took the train and headed to Raffles Place.

The bear was pretty familiar with how the system worked. I on the other hand felt a little lost.

I wasn't retarded, there were signs everywhere. Even if I had no idea how to take the MRT eventually I would have figured my way around. Nonetheless, I still felt a little lost. A little out of place. It'd been too long, everything just didn't feel the same as it used to.

From Plaza Singapura we headed to Raffles Place.

And that's when the bear took out his huge-ass camera and started snapping away (I insisted of course).

The shots were okay, he's still in the process of improving his photography. The funny part was when the bear reached the top and nearly fell over! It was a pity I didn't have my camera with me to take him. That would be pretty hysterical.

I haven't been to Raffles Place for the longest time ever.

See how pleased I was?

Ever since I left my job in Marketing Communications, every other position didn't really require me to work in that area - or wear a "suit" for that matter.

Anyway, the StarHub at OUB building was pretty empty, but sadly... the phone was still unavailable. So, from Raffles Place we made our way to Somerset to try our luck again.

When all else failed (no white iPhone 3GS) with no time left to head all the way down to VivoCity, we had to give up. But this time, instead of taking the MRT, we walked back to Plaza Singapura. Yes, walked! I'm not kidding.

That was that. The end of our journey - not for the day but taking the MRT.
