First days are always somewhat tiresome, bearable nonetheless.
Usually I'd ratter on about the bad and/or good (bad things are more obvious than good ones) but this time I've decided take a step back and be a little more discrete. Don't want to land myself in a shit hole for no god damn reason.
I guess the major setback today (or rather yesterday), is having to turn up for work too early. And by early I do not mean 6am in the morning, in fact, it's more than an hour pass the normal working time. I've been pretty punctual lately, which hasn't been working in my favour. That said, it'd be a bad idea to turn up late the first day of work.
I guess what I'm getting at is... well... nothing much actually. My iPod came in handy, so did the iPhone. I can't imagine what I'd have done if not for these two devices. Pulling out my hair is definitely not one of the options of course, but I might actually start pacing around like a maniac.
I just had to whine a little. It'd be kinda odd if I don't.
My bosses are seemingly nice chaps, pretty much easy-going. Then again, it is my first day... let's see what happens when I make my first mistake (hopefully not a major one). The Editor on the other hand pretty much bombasted me with every minor detail he could think of. It's not a bad thing, just a little straining on my mental capacity. Fortunately, the bear being a trivia buff as he puts it, somewhat trained me to withstand (for lack of a better word) such information being poured upon me.
Anyway, the world is such a tiny place really, who'd expect that the first meet up with an new publication would be with an old advertiser - only found out after speaking to an ex-colleague of mine. So yeah.
The whole day basically revolved around bombasting, meetings, discussions and more discussions. Mainly chitchats and understanding the whole picture which still isn't very clear yet.
I predict this position I'm in would be pretty much brain wreaking, which equates to challenging, and I do like to take up challenges. Now the only problem is to take pace and keep up my stamina, definitely do not want to burn out before I even accomplish anything.
Hmmm... being discrete is kinda restraining me from expressing my feelings. Did I mention how fortunate I was to stumble upon this job and landed in about 24 hours after I sent out my resume? (The question pretty much says it all.)
Time to meet Mr. Sandman.

Strangely enough, I couldn't find a decent image of Mr. Sandman so I guess Gaara was the next best choice on the list.
That's all folks!
PS: I'm with Motor Culture Asia and SPIN Asia Magazine.
