The last couple of months, I've been head over heels smitten by Usui Takumi (an anime character from Kaichou wa Maid-sama). It's to the extend I actually dreamed about him while asleep!
So, the silly little twit that I am (meaning this in whatever good manner you can think of) I recited to Teddybear about "following the Usui-footsteps" (which he obviously couldn't even if he wanted to)!
Going completely out of the point from the title of this entry...

While raving about Usui, the bear changed the subjected to Yahoo's "hot topic" on their main page,
"What do you think of guys who carry their partner's handbag?"
I guess I'm quite a defensive person. Although I know I don't do it (often at least), and he probably didn't mean it that way, when he brought it up I kinda wanted to bite his head off! Hurhur.
It's a self-note thing. I swore to myself that unless it's a really heavy non-girly bag, I wouldn't make my partner carry it for more than a minute, much less talk about handbags.
Admittedly, (talking about bags not handbags again) there were times when my hands were full and I needed to find something within the bag but couldn't find a place to put it down... so I had to (it was most convenient) ask the bear to hold it for a bit to dig within it. Forgivable right?
But of course, if it's like my luggage bag (which are all pink), laptop bag (none are pink), camera bag (one is pink, but he only needs to help with the non-pink ones)... then too bad. That said, I am a little particular about my gadgets and hardly trust clumsy people with it.
So anyway, back to handbags... what do you think of guys that are "that helpful"? I see this in Singapore ever so often, but in the States or anywhere/everywhere else, NEVER!
My bear loves bright colours for his purses (and no, I meant purses not wallets) and accessories... which is out of point as well.
I don't like thinking that my bear is hen-pecked but he often refers to himself that way. Tsk. (And that is the only "hen-pecked" statement I have in this entire entry.)

I am a guy and I have to say it depends on the situation if you guys are at the store and he just wants to carry your bag theres an issue but if you are at the mall trying on some shoes and theres no where to place it and he holds it like a shopping bag thats fine. But if his hold it as you would on your shoulder theres an issue. Great blog

I agree to a certain extend. Generally I don't think guys would or should wanna hold their partner's handbag regardless the situation (my impression of handbags are girly and tiny). That said, some handbags are actually quite large. And based on the scenario you mentioned, if I'm at the mall and trying on a pair of shoes and have no where to put my bag down, if he offers to hold it for a while I would think that he's being a gentleman. However, if he offers to carry it while walking on the streets... seriously... WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT GUY?
And thanks, appreciate your visit and comment ^^!

i think he is hen pecked, but in a good way! Someone needs to be more dominant in a relationship!

Maybe I need to redefine the meaning of "hen-pecked" in my head. He doesn't take orders that well.
