In recent days, I've gotten vainer than you can ever believe. While hanging out with Estee the other day, we passed by Watson and ended up spending over a hundred bucks on cosmetics! And we all know Sab doesn't wear cosmetics... well, not until now that is. I shall not go into the number of clothes, bags or shoes I've purchased in the recent months. You'll be horrified by the figures.

Girls need to grow up, and make-up (and everything else) just happens to be one of those steps that you need to take. I'm not saying that you should doll up every single day. But as an working professional, a little make-up gives people a whole different impression of you - in a good way.

So anyway, I hear the OC Girl Contest was in town and calling ladies aged 18 to 28 to participate. This contest stretches from now all the way until October 2010 (which happens to be my birthday month) in search of the new face of Orchard Central!

What's in it for you? Well, whether you win the contest or not, ladies that participate get to enjoy a complimentary makeover (we're talking about make-up and hairstyling) by participating tenants which includes: Essensuals Hairdressing, Jonal Chong Hair Couture, La Coco Hair and Missha. And no, there's no minimum spending required.

A polaroid shot of the ladies will be taken and the most photogenic girl will stand to win SGD2,500 worth of prizes and a feature in CLEO magazine each month! Yes, EACH MONTH! And that's not it. The monthly winners will vie for the title OC Girl 2010 and the overall winner will stand to walk away with SGD5,000 worth of prizes, a CLEO feature and become the face of Orchard Central! How awesome is that?!

Basically, you go there looking like... you, and you come out looking absolute fabulous with a chance to loads of prizes! It's a good deal, I kid you not.

So, the makeovers are held every Sunday, 1 to 6pm (last makeover at 5.30pm) at Orchard Central Basement 1. Terms and conditions apply, of course. Clothing does not apply, but you'll have to wear them. When I say “does not apply” I meant, they don't provide it. My advise is that you wear something nice. Even though they basically just take a head shot of you, trust me, dress nice. After all that make-up and hairstyling, you do not want to walk around in casual attire. It's just weird. And besides, it's a good chance to take dozens of photos of yourself! I work with make-up artists, hairstylists, photographers and models... it's not something cheap.

Oh, I almost forgot. All OC Girl participants will be invited for an OC Girl Party that will be held on the first Friday of the following month to announce the winning OC Girl for the month. More freebies!

What are you gonna expect during the makeover? Check this out!

I would like to take this opportunity and thank the sponsors:
