I'm going to claim copyrights for the name "Xiao Bai" to be used on notebooks. Damn it!
Why is it, people I DO NOT LIKE seems to be copying stuff that I DO LIKE!?
I've been calling my Xiao Bai, "Xiao Bai" ever since I bought my first white notebook roughly 5 years ago. And today, while being bored and not being able to sleep, I stumbled upon a rival's blog.
In fact, I only started to HATE HER after she revealed her two-faced character in her blog a couple of years ago. She pretended to be nice in front of me, while backstabbing me in her blog, which obviously pissed me off. And eventually she tore the blog down, admitting defeat.
AND GUESS WHAT!
She just bought her MacBook and she decides to call HER, "Xiao Bai"!
Yes, it's cute. Duh!
Of all the "Girls Out Loud" episodes that I didn't watch (yes I meant I didn't watch, it isn't a typo), this is one that I stumble upon in YouTube, which I kinda enjoy, surprisingly.
The reason why I don't watch "Girls Out Loud" is the same reason why I don't go out with my mum. And why do I not go out with my mum? Well, simply because I find it boring.
Deep down I'm a girly girl who loves to play with dolls. Previously I played with actually Barbie dolls, now I play with the online ones - kinda.
By online I mean MMORPGs, and one of the reasons why I like them so much is because MMORPGs allows me to enhance my character in terms of visual - based on gears.
The downside about MMORPGs is that it requires wayyy too much time. Sad to say, I'm no longer a teenager that lives off my mum. I have responsibilities and such, so it's kinda difficult to give up so much time.
Sooo... Hello web-based games!
I hereby present to you Dress Up Games!
Frankly speaking it's not much of a game-game, more like a pet.
In the olden days, matchmaking for us, the Chinese, are considered a common practice. Basically this is how it works. Parents engage matchmakers, giving them their child's "shen chen ba zhi" (date of birth and such) with the stated criteria, and the matchmakers would find suitable candidates for them to select then arrange for the blind dates.
Nowadays, we've somewhat stopped this "practice", due to the rights of free will.
However, matchmakers have come to learn that to continue in their trade, they'd have to come up with a new concept to attract business. In fact, this isn't really a difficult task...
It's been more then 24 hours since I last came online. And I've inhabited the habit to check my emails the moment I come online. And today, I received 3 mails from MyBlogLog.
That's when the feeling of regret kicked in. It happens that lately a couple of blogs I come across that seemed rather appealing happens to be written in CHINESE! Sheez. I felt like I was the guy from the show, "Lost in Translation", on television last night.
There's this part when the director actually blabbered alot in some foreign language, and the translator just said one sentence. LoLx~ She probably cut off all the cursing and swearing and just mentioned what was relevant, I guess.
Anyway...
To be honest, I didn't really complete the show. In fact I only caught the glimpse of the starting part. It seemed obvious that the guy couldn't understand what the hell the people around him were saying. He speaks English (like me) and they spoke some foreign language (in my case, Chinese). But of cause, there are differences in my case and his. I can actually speak and understand simple Chinese. Unfortunately, I can neither read nor write that's all.
Sadly, I regret not putting in the effort in building up my foundations in the Chinese Language. Though I'm trying hard to pick it up now, it's a little too late and way too tough for me to handle.
With much regret, for those that write your blogs in Chinese, I doubt I'll have the joy in reading them. Sigh. :(
Cosafe Maid Cafe is officially opened on the December 12, 2006, and is located within CHIJMES!
This cafe is based on the 1980s anime theme made popular in Japan. And the 2 that came up with the idea to open this cafe are Julia Laurant, 21, and Ferlyn Tan, 16 (based on TODAYonline).
How many Stevens' are there in this world? Damn! Why is it that the ones I know simply don't make the mark, but the ones I don't seems to be remarkably talented?! Sigh.
* Just a note, my boyfriend's name happens to be Steven too! That's one of the major reasons why I'm writing this.
Anyway...
It's time I advise my boyfriend to read up more on people that share the same name as him. A couple of better examples would be Steven Vornea (Chief Executive Officer of CFA Capital Partners), Steven Sinofsky (Senior Vice President, Windows and Windows Live Engineering), Steven Spielberg (Film Director), and Steven Kings (Author). There's a hell lot more but I can't seriously name all of them, there's way too many!
Well, Steven Sinofsky is kinda "tech-guru", Steven Spielberg and Steven Kings just simply isn't his cup of tea (I mean they're in the entertainment industry, in Singapore you need to be REALLY lucky to do well in such an industry), so they're kinda out of the question. But Steven Vornea on the other hand would be a perfect role model! - Much more realistic to follow his footsteps since we're in SINGAPORE.
Read up time!
OMG! Did I actually write in to the Government and forgot that I wrote in?
I kinda recall that I mentioned I would write in to request that they increase the CPF contributions from employers' side in one of my entries not so long ago. However, I don't recall that I actually did so (as in actually writing in). Did someone help me fulfill my wish and wrote in on my behalf?
Haha. Okay, I'm being super BHB. Since I've thought of it, others would have thought of it as well. Whatever the case, an increase is a good thing though Sam-ge-ge thinks it doesn't make much of a difference. Still, 1.5% more is still MORE! It's better then nothing.
Humans are greedy, but asking for too much never gets anyone, anywhere.
Now I'm starting to LOVE Singapore again! Though GST is going up, our CPF contributions from employers' is also going up! It's not that bad afterall. At least they show a little care...
Whining is good when it gets heard!
Geez...
I'm a little shock that she actually removed her blog (or maybe she changed the URL). But seriously, is there a need to do so?
It's not like anyone would actually bother about it other then me of cause since I bothered to go look at it and noticed it has been removed.
Could it be because of me?
Should I feel bad?
Still, I can't actually mention who 'SHE' is, as usual. Such a pity it's gone.
I seriously can't remember the last time I read something interesting in ANYONE's blog. But when there's a will there's a way...
I was browsing through SBO and clicked on one of the listed blogs under the Personal Space section.
How should I put it? It is somewhat an accident that I picked this particular blog and read this particular entry "Why Girls' Blog More Popular than Boys' Blog in Singapore".
Don't ask me why I picked that blog, and don't ask me why I picked that particular entry to read. It's fated I guess.
Anyway...
Though I do not agree with everything that's written, nevertheless, it is an interesting entry.
Note: By the way, he shifted his blog to Weikiat.NET.
Hmm... This was kinda taken before dinner... LoLx~
Imagine Monkey not wearing a top and going Pioneer Mall for dinner. Rather indecent I must admit.
I simply love Hello Kitty!
First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy & Prosperous Lunar New Year!
This year it's the year of the pig and next it'd be the year of the rat, which is my zodiacal sign. In other words, I'll be 24 close to the end of next year, which also means I'm getting OLD...
Well, it's breakfast in bed for Monkey at least.
A lot of talk about blogging has surfaced throughout the years. It began as just being an online personal journal, to becoming a tool for marketing purposes. Blogging has taken the globe by storm and it still growing rapidly.
Tan Kian Ann, 25, was featured in The News Paper on February 1st, 2007 for his unique career choice as a professional blogger and self-proclaimed "blogoprenuer".
Technology has advance till knowledge known one year back might be ostracized a year later. To keep up with technology, users have to constantly keep themselves updated with the latest software, gadgets and trends. Even in businesses, upgrading is a necessity.
A lot of discussion has been brought up about SEO. It’s a common term yet a stranger to many. As mentioned, technology has advanced throughout the years, and internet users have increase dramatically. In the past, for a household to own merely one computer, it raises the eye browns of others in envy. But now, it is common that a household not only own one computer but many, and laptops as well. Need I talk about bandwidth?
So exactly what is SEO? And how does this help in businesses?
Did I mention that my old primary school friend, Gwendalyn is going to get married soon? If I've not mistaken, her engagement was last year in 2006 and her wedding is on this November 2007! She'll update me again when the date draws near, so I'll be update on this again in due time.
Congrats Gwen~
It's the start of my last term, and if I finally pass my Accounting I can finally take my majors. If I don't I can go bang wall and die!
Hmm... I think I forgot to mentioned that I FAILED MY ACCOUNTING AGAIN! Oh gosh. It's such a pain. I've failed this module 3 times! First time I didn't attend, 2nd time I overslept and was late, 3rd time I was late but seriously even if I wasn't I would have failed.
Sigh. My "zhi ming shang" is most definitely Accounting! But I just have to pass it, otherwise I can never graduate!
Anyway, I'm going to request from my company to get SDF for me to attend a Flash MX course. I kinda want the cert. LoLx~
Basically blogs are so trendy that anything related to "blogging" I'd give it a go. I was browsing through mrbrown's blog and I saw the post on "Useless Accounts rule!", and guess what happened next?
Well, I didn't actually read the post, but I still signed up for an account.
And guess what! It is seriously an USELESS ACCOUNT! There is no purpose whatsoever. Gosh! I must have been really bored that day...
Hmm... Let's see. I guess most of you guys would have gone out for a romantic candle light dinner, a romantic walk at the beach, a simple movie, or something like that?
Well, guess what I did for Valentine's Day?
Haha! I've spent the past 3 hours sorting out my blog and the hour before that was spent editing screenshots for that stupid Monkey!
And as for him, he spent the WHOLE DAY (obviously after he came home from work) playing WoW, chatting away with people that he hasn't met and would probably never get the chance to meet in person before.
Basically his parents think he's doing some "bad stuff" online like cyberXXX, cause he keeps talking to the computer. LoLx~ Parents. Duh.
So much for Valentine's Day...
Valentine's Day - A day to be spent with the one you love. Unfortunately, nowadays, Valentine's day has became an ultimate tool used by vendors to earn more profits.
Nevertheless, being the dumb, materialistic girl I am, I'm still going to allow the vendors to profit from this "festive season"! LoLx~
Well, I'm not going into too much details about Chinese New Year since I already wrote abit in the previous entry.
Just a hint, if you're not married, you get "hong baos". If you are married, start preparing to give them out to someone like ME! LoLx~
Anyway, let me take you on a tour to see the decorations done at OBTECH!
When you walk up to our doorstep, immediately you'd see...
And on level 1 and level 2!
Somewhat impressive? I mean the editing of photos... Just kidding!
Happy Chinese New Year
Basically I did a short "greeting article" on "Welcoming the year of the Pig" for my company, ObTech's website.
Living in Singapore you get to enjoy various kinds of cultured celebrations. However, the population in Singapore consists of roughly more then 70% Chinese. Thus, holding the largest percentage of the population, the Chinese New Year Festival is one of the celebrations practically all Singaporeans are familiar with, regardless the various races.
I simply do not understand why Singaporeans LOVE to QUEUE? Is it like an unknown custom in Singapore?
Sigh. Time to talk about something less miserable, like LUNCH! No photo of the main dish, not worth taking the photo, it didn't really look that good. Nevertheless, the desert is rather cute.
I didn't say it was fantastic...
I love my work place! The food, the people, the EVERYTHING!
By the way, check this site out. Quite kewl.
Something doesn't feel right...
I sent him a couple of SMS-es this morning/afternoon and I've tried calling him. Not only did he not reply any of my SMS-es, he didn't pick up my calls.
Where the hell is he? It's already 2pm, he can't still be at work. And even if he was, he could still reply my SMS or pick up and say "I'm busy". But NO, nothing at all.
I feel this heart dropping, something is going to happen, he is up to something kinda feeling. I hate this feeling. I hate this uncomfortable, distrust and worried feeling.
Duh. Where's the trust? Something is up, I can feel it, but what?
My bad. It's Chinese New Year season, so work ends a little later then usual. I feel so much better now, and I have a movie date tonight! LoLx~
OKAY! I AM PARANOID! HAPPY?!
Vomiting blood is something I've already gotten used to. BUT coughing it?! That's new...
Sigh. What's next?
Note: This was taken before lunch, but I only uploaded it after lunch. Duh. I went for LUNCH!
The world is SERIOUSLY SMALL! I really didn't expect/mean to stumble upon 'HER' (I'll just call her Ms. A) blog, it was somewhat an accident.
Note: I would like to emphasize on the fact that I DO NOT HAVE any dislike whatsoever towards Ms. A. DUH! I'm just extremely surprised that the world is so small...
Usually, this is how "blog linking" works. One blog leads to another and sometimes after being redirected so many times, you might unexpectedly stumble upon someone you used to know or something like that.
This on the other hand, was an ultimately "..." case. I had all intentions to visit this particular blog, and while scrolling down her blogroll list, I stumbled upon Ms. A's name. Immediately the words "the world really so small" crossed my mind. And guess what! The world IS REALLY THAT SMALL! LoLx~
Then again, they’re the same age group, in the same course, obviously the same school...
I know so far this whole entry doesn't make much sense. But! If I reveal any/more information whatsoever, it'd probably be too obvious who Ms. A is. So, as to not put my head on the chopping board, I cannot reveal who's blog I visited that linked to Ms. A, what course, what occupation and anything that might directly or even indirectly relate.
It's 6.38pm and I'm still freezing in the office. I wonder why I'm not rushing home yet. Hmm... Could it be because I have no stable connection at home and I miss my blog so very much? LoLx~
Damn, I'm seriously sick. I love my blog so much I spend almost 16/7 facing it (8 hours is the estimated amount of time I need for sleep). So, I guess that makes me insane. Wahaha! I'm the insane brat that loves idling at my own blog and writing nonsense to entertain myself.
Honestly, I don't really spend 16/7 staring at my blog, I just keep it in one of the tabs and occasionally click on it to take a look at what else I can modify to make it look better though it doesn't look good in the first place.
I seriously need something worthwhile to write about. Probably something like, "hey, I saw one piece of the sky falling to the ground". That might be an interesting topic, but definitely 100% frictional. LoLx~
WHAT THE HELL!
I do something up for people's viewing pleasure and "SOMEONE" still dare DEMAND that I should change the title to his liking!
DAMN IT! You want me to send you a draft of my blog entry before I publish it out on my blog? DUH!
HELLO! CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH? You don't understand the meaning of "FOR FUN"? Do you need me explain the meaning to you?
Read this email and you'll understand why I'm so bloody pissed.
Duh. Official release? WHO IS GOING TO READ TINGWEI.ORG?!
As usual, first thing in the morning when I come to work, I'd check the keyword "obtech" at Google for the current ranking. And guess what! Though my temp site is still at page 4. It moved from the bottom of the page, to the middle. At least I don't have to scroll down to see the link. ;x
Additional note: My blog has done pretty well, I have more links appear for the keyword "obtech" compared to last week! LoLx~
As I was saying, blah blah blah... I saw this link from TODAYonline involving my big bossy, Michael Lim. Kinda anicent news already, but still kewl that he actually got interviewed because of his interest in being a "boy" scout.
Hmm... too bad there wasn't a picture.
I received an email yesterday from Jane (have no clue who she is by the way), asking me for advice on what to do about her relationship. This is what she wrote...
Hey princess,
I've been reading your blog for half a year but you never approved any of my comments. I decided to send you an email for advice instead. I've been with my boyfriend for more then 3 years, and for the past year, things have gotten really bad. I'm afraid I'm going to lose him soon. I'm not sure what is happening, probably I've not be playing my part well enough. I really want to salvage this but have no idea how. I have a bad temper and can be over sensitive. There were many times we quarrelled over stupid things like girls calling him or messaging him. Lately things has gotten so bad, we hardly even talk anymore. Everytime I called he would say he's busy or he wouldn't even pick up. I really don't know what to do. I read some entries you wrote about your relationship with your boyfriend and lately things seemed to have gotten better. Could you share with me how things improved?
Jane.
This is my reply.

Drupal 4.7.6 and 5.1 are available for download. These are maintenance releases that fix problems reported using the bug tracking system, as well as a security vulnerability.
Upgrading your existing Drupal sites is strongly recommended.
I seriously hate constantly upgrading from 1 version to another. But due to the fix in the security vulnerability, I had not much of a choice. I wouldn't want any security issues to come about to my precious site right?
Version 3.02 is merely an upgrade of Version 3.01. The concept is still based on my fantasy. The Castle on the clouds, me in a Pink Hello Kitty Gown with Wings wearing a Tiara, and my dear Fairy-lings!
As mentioned in an entry during the development stage of this design. The photo I used to merge with the pink hello kitty gown is different from before (it blends in much better now).
It's time to head down to the "crime scene", Loof, where ObTech (the company I work for) is holding our Chinese New Year Gathering.
Lately I've been wondering about this question, "How to be a good blogger?"
Does a good blogger mean that you need to entertain your readers by creating dramatic incidents to make your life seem somewhat more interesting for people to read?
Does a good blogger mean that you discuss (or rather write) about issues in regard to the public's major concern?
Obviously what that is written has to make somewhat sense.
Does a good blogger mean that you need to constantly update your blog even when you don't have the mood to blog?
Is it all of the above?
Is it one or two of the above?
Or, is it completely none of the above?
Damn it! Why are there so many stupid people in this world? Or rather, why must I have to deal with so many stupid people? Tell me why are you wasting the brain that god gave you! WHY!
Do you know how many handicapped people would wish to obtain that brain of yours? Why are you wasting it like that? WHY!
Bloody hell. Can't stand it!
Super duper annoyed by the retarded people around me. Thank god I still have my boss, Sae Min, and nice-nice Soraya. Otherwise, I will freaking go NUTS!
Ignore me. I need to let it out...
I know I'm very bo liaoz, but I need a break. My brain is about to EXPLODE! And where better to take a break that didn't require me to walk much then the toilet?
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the most bo liaoz of them all?
ME! Of cause.
Let me introduce you to the tour guide for today.
Oh yes, It's me of cause! :P
The first stop is none other then MY DESK! Okay, so you've seen my desk a dozen of times but have you seen my shelf?
I've seem to have completely lost touch with the Wordpress environment. Till now, I'm still working on Winnie-jie's blog though it's only been a few days.
Previously I installed a couple of new plugins, but some of them didn't meet the requirement or isn't functioning properly.
For example, fGallery. Yes the plugin works. You can upload images and manage it. However, the gallery page itself isn't compatible with various themes (apart from the default and it still has glitches). And to be honest, it isn't all that fantasic. It seriously isn't worth the time and effort to modify the theme to allow it to be compatible with the plugin. Thus, I using Photopress. Though it's much simpler, it works. And the time and effort taken can be used on other stuff that's more worthwhile.
The core features of Wordpress works prefectly well more or less. However, the plugins can be a little tricky.
Nevertheless, I'm proud to say that the gallery is successfully installed or rather a gallery is successfully installed!
The following are the plugins installed and are up and running:
I seriously have no idea what these blogging community sites (such as Tomorrow.sg) are all about.
Is it like some kinda internet media portal for bloggers to post their views, increase their readership, and hopefully become famous?
I mean I don't see the sense of all of it. It feels like some forum discussion board. You see a post and you see many people commenting on the post. So it's an area of debate and if you debate well you become famous?
Hmmm...
To think I self-proclaim that I'm a "blogger", yet I've no clue whatsoever about what's going on with the so-called "blogging scene".
Hilarious isn't it?
I know constantly changing the design bit by bit isn't going to make it anymore fantastic then it already isn't.
However, it just felt like something was outta place. Thus, I had to do something about it!
It's somewhat a drastic change I would say...
I would say that this time round the modification to the design is definitely more drastic and more obvious then the previous modification.
It's not much of a drastic change. I just changed/added some colors, modified a bit on the background images' effect and finally adding a fairy-ling.
I'd probably change another fairy-ling image in time to come. However, at this moment, we'd all have to bear with this one.
Hmm... I should remove the post earlier. I mean so what if he had a Friendster account with just 2 people (that are girls) in it? Is it my problem? Should I be bothered? No.
Now, to start off a happier tune. Let me introduce you to the all mighty, MONKEY!
Don't blame me for the bad photography. What do you expect? I'm using a camera phone for god sake. Yes yes... I should get a better camera. But, I'm broke. Care to give me a camera as a Valentine's Day present? Belated Birthday or Christmas present is fine too. Hehe :)
What can I say, how dumb can I get? Duh. I am an idiot...
Want to know why?
Click this link: http://www.friendster.com/25406615
Notice the date this account is created.
Now take a look at this: http://www.friendster.com/4890785
Do I need to say more? Or should I say, at least they're prettier this time round? How nice, created an account just for 2 mei nus. So sweet...
Is life really just a game? Really don't understand what is true what isn't anymore. One after another, again and again. It's like a never-ending cycle. But what can I do? What can I ask for? Nothing.
Since there is nothing I can do about it, why do I bother? I really don't understand. I'm just asking for trouble.
Like I said, I'm an idiot.
Working with ObTech for the past 4 months+ has been a rewarding experience. Everyone here is great, apart from some scoundrels. I mean, there are always a couple of bad eggs within a whole lot of good ones right?
Okay, enough of "within office issues". This isn't exactly an entry that I wanna share my unhappy views of my colleagues.
Back to the topic...
I got this site (MyHeritage) off Sherlin's Friendster blog.
I am seriously very bo liaoz! I spent quite an amount of time to do up this entry, but it's quite worth it I guess...
* Self entertaining *
I feel extremely lame lately. Everything I do seem to have a motive. I feel like cunning, conniving bitch! Is it good to become what I'm becoming? Is that what I want of myself? Tsk.
It has gotta do with my insecurity. I keep losing stuff, to other people and to fate. To keep whatever that belongs to me, mine, I do what is needed to be done.
What is mine is mine! DO YOU HEAR ME!
In this world, to climb up the ladder, you step on whomever you can. To get what you want, you have to give up any trace of any good within yourself.
In this world, only the strong survives, the weak will perish. So to survive, you have to surpass your opponents. The lower they fall, the higher up you climb.
I'm working on the features for Winnie-jie's blog that is powered by WordPress. And it is seriously annoying me!
Many of the plugins listed isn't exactly working properly. Those that are working, isn't exactly what I need. I think it's quite late and my brain isn't working anymore. Better stop now and start again tomorrow or something.
So far I've installed:
I think I've officially gone nuts! Look at what stupid things I'm doing...
Oh yes, and guess whose blog I found while doing some research on ObTech, using Google?
Erm... Don't think anyone will be able to guess the answer, and I can't even remember his name either. LoLx~
Anyway, it's the guy from Singapore Poly that is going to intern with us (us as in ObTech).
Sigh. The Cyber World is so huge yet I'm able to stumble upon such a "unknown" blog (no offence). Proves how bad my research is coming to...
GOD DAMN IT! I'm starting to have that kinda feeling again... Am I starting to care AGAIN!? No, no, no! I refuse to oblige to this! I refuse to become pathetic!
Argh...
"CONTROL YOURSELF DAMN IT!"
I don't give a damn even if you have a million girlfriends! I don't give a damn even if you you're lying right in my face without even blinking! I DO NOT CARE! I REFUSE TO BE AFFECTED!
I seriously do not understand, am I insane? Why do I even bother commenting that I don't care? Ridiculous! Does that mean that I do? Why am I thinking of things that I cannot control? Does that mean that I want to control it? Why the hell am I debating with myself!?
Argh...
Why can't people learn some shame? Why can't people just get a life? Tsk.
