How will a pulp result?
X Change is a KTV Pub located within Boat Quay, beside Coffee Bean on the 2nd floor. It was setup in mid 2005, officially launch on August 2005. X Change practices a cozy style concept, giving it's customers a homely feeling while enjoying their drinks and singing session. Due to the concept in which X Change practices, it caters for any to every class of people.
Operating hours:
Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays – 7pm to 2am
Fridays and Saturdays – 7pm to 3am
Every night there will be a minimum of 1 waitress on floor and 1 cashier cum KJ behind the bar counter. During days when the crowd is heavy, there will be 4 to 7 waitresses on floor to assure at least 99% customer satisfaction in service. All waitresses at X Change are presentable, well groomed and well trained. You'd see waitresses constantly making sure that the glasses are filled with drinks, and ashtrays are emptied.
X Change's management is run by 3 people. Though new to the entertainment scene with their guidance and enthusiasm, it leaves an unforgettable impact to customers. This is the reason why you would always see familiar faces around.
X Change also has a slightly above average surround sound system. The KTV system used by X Change is none other than Andyware OK 3000, updated regularly with the latest songs in the market, allowing customers to sing the latest hits. Each table is allocated 2 songs a time, so please be patient and wait for your turn.
There are a total of 5 speakers and 8 television screens with 2 channels, ESPN and Star Sports. Both channels can be displayed at the same time, together with the KTV song. So soccer fans if you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy your game, this would be one of the alternatives.
Other than drinking and singing, X Change also has a, 7 feet Pool table and a touch screen game machine. If you were thinking of a game of pool you would need to insert 2 x S$1.00 coins, similarly for the game machine you would need to insert 1 x S$1.00 coin to be able to play.
Jimmy Kuek the Director of X Change quotes, "I hope that one day X Change would be like the pioneer pubs in Singapore and receives recognition by 'pubbers'". He hopes his pub would be 'full house' both on weekdays as well as weekends.
With pros there will always be cons, vice verse.
For X Change there are various cons such as location, design and system. X Change is situated on the 2nd floor; due to the location it is not an eye catcher. The pub lacks advertising and publicity; it is rather dependent on its regulars. The chances of walk-in customers are rather slim. If not told the location of the pub, passersby would not notice its existence in the numerous pubs within Boat Quay.
Part from its location, the interior design is also rather poor. The walls are close to bare and the place looks run-downed. To try solving this problem, the management displayed several framed posters on the walls. However, as it is in-constructively placed, instead of improving the design, it only made the walls look messy.
Also, though X Change's KTV System is regularly updated, the varieties of songs are still incomparable to which of those established KTVs' such as KBox. The varieties of oldies and languages (such as Korean or Japanese) are also very little.
So, whether or not X Change is a pub for you would depend on individual preferences. However, it is still on my recommendation list.
For other drinks' pricing, you'd have to make your way down to the pub and get it from the counter.
I go by the name Princessa (pronounced as Prin-ces-sa) online, you can also call me Sabrina or Princess Sabrina for that matter.
