By now she's either on a plane heading to Shanghai or at Shanghai already.
It's not often we get to meet up, and lately, it seems even harder. She has school, her computer games, her other friends, her love life, her family... and tons of other stuff that I'm clearly not involved in. But fortunately, whenever we meet it feels like the old times. Gossiping, ranting - the usual.

After meeting up at Nuffnang's office, we headed down to Plaza Singapura for a nice dinner session. I was hoping for sushi but ended up having western delight (or somewhat a delight).
It resembled a fast food outlet that was slightly overpriced – set in the middle of nowhere at the basement level. We've never had Hot Tomato Express before, so it's something new, our first - in BFF way.
The choice was pretty obvious, considering there wasn't anything special to look forward to. She had her rice, which is the "love of her life", and I had my steak, the love of mine - I upsized (+ SGD2.90), which included a soup and a drink.
Apparently, Hot Tomato Express wasn't served with hot tomatoes, or was it much of an express.
The starters were served first.

Garlic bread...

Followed by the mushroom soup.

Here's a tip when dining with me. It would be best to inform the server to serve my main dish first before my partner's. The reason is simple, it buys me some time to snap the shots I need - force of habit, I take photos of (almost) everything I consume. Sadly, it was somewhat forgotten and her baked rice came before my sirloin steak, medium rare.

By the time I was done snapping the shots, her baked rice was completely wiped out. I didn't manage to try a single grain of rice, therefore I cannot comment on it's taste or whether it was any value for money.

My steak was paired with spaghetti. The wellness of the steak was almost right; surface well grilled with blood flowing out when sliced. However, the meat was a little tough for my liking, but understandable considering its pricing - every penny for its grade. As for the spaghetti, it was smooth and tasteful.
Not a steakhouse per se, my expectations for steak wasn't set on the higher end of the ruler. It was decent, might even consider seconds (as in another visit). The spaghetti deserved more compliments. It wasn't extraordinary but definitely above the mark I set.
For a simple and decent dinner at Plaza Singapura, this could be it - beats the fast food restaurants. That said, sometimes it's not the food but the person you're with that makes the dining experience remarkable.
