Yahoo! Mobile @ CommunicAsia: Discover, Stay Connected and Stay Informed


It's hard to switch my brain constantly from one that loves my branded handbags, heels and etc, says, "Oooh myyy goddd" and replies, "Huh? What?" to one that sets up my own DIY PC and speaks in language other than English and Mandarin.

Thing is, deep down, there's a geeky side to almost every individual - one way or another. For me, it's the love of technology and of course, my gadgets - I name them, you know - Xiaobai.

Roughly two months ago, I attended CommunicAsia as a guest of Yahoo! Mobile. It was there that Yahoo! announced the availability of the new Yahoo! Mobile, an open and customisable mobile platform for both mobile browsers as well as the iPhone.

There is still Magic in this world!


Ever since the launch of HTC Dream I've been fascinated by the Android platform - yes, I like it more than the iPhone. The only real problem with the Dream is the... Erm... Well... Battery life actually. Basically that's the only thing that's holding me back from grabbing one off the shelves.

But no, this isn't about the Dream, it's the HTC Magic that is the star of this show.

Admittedly, I am bias when it comes to Android. I've devoted my feelings towards this platform since the day I attending the launch of the Dream. However, as a soon to be ex-writer of a tech publication, it is important to be un-bias towards the products when doing a review (like that's ever going to happen). Mobile technology from before to Android


I remember the first mobile communicating device I had was a Motorola pager (the black bulky one before memo jazz). That was back when I was in Secondary School, which, if you think, is quite pathetic since these days even primary school kids carry mobile phones.

But yes, back then, having a pager was considered pretty "cool".

Those were the days when you received a page and you searched high and low for a pay phone to call back - pay phones that accepted only ten cent coins, to various coins, to phone cards!
