When the going get's tough, the tough goes Google.
I was tasked to take a look and give some comments on gay Romania, a blog that talks about homosexual. Unfortunately, the site is in a foreign language, Romanian to be precise, which made my job pretty tough. Fortunately, someone created Google Translate (explains my first statement)! If you haven't already heard, then you better check it out right now.
In this search for new talent, Google is holding a global (yes, anywhere around the world) competition for students aged 13 to 18, in groups of two to three or individually.
What better chance to kick start your passion for Science, and what better opportunity than this? (Not forgetting the attractive prizes.) Read the rest of this entry »
Having to reformat my MBP (MacBook Pro) over the Chinese New Year - new year, new start; they say - I have only but my MBA (not Masters in BA but MacBook Air) to accompany me through this "giving" festive season - which limits me from accessing feeds that I've sync-ed to my MBP, my MBA is new you see.
Thankfully, I or rather we (should all) have Twitter.
Twitter isn't just a place where I rant my unhappiness in 140 characters and ignore those who try to give me "good advise", it's a place where I get my first hand updates on the world; which mainly consist of fashion, friends, gossip, etc - no, no world peace sorry.
And we have our good ol' Google, which "inspired" me to write this entry.
Here's a question that Mashable brought up:
"Will Technorati, a long time leader in blog search, see its market share eaten up by an open, mobile text messaging platform?"
(Duh. Twitter.)
In case you didn't know - Twitter is a service for sharing text updates with friends proved itself a veritable rapid-transit system for breaking news, and soon it was this microcontent production house, not the blogosphere, that became the check-digit for the established blogging pro.

For those who aren't sure of the term "microblogging", according to Wikipedia: Read the rest of this entry »
This is news - "YouTube's Head of Monetization QUITS"
Previously there were discussions about Google experiencing some difficulties in making YouTube the money-making machine it should be. (It is making profit of course, but well... Not to the levels it really should be, which is kinda an issue for the big boys.)
Traffic may be incredibly high, and pageviews are much healthier than any other video sites, but it seems Google's prediction of making $200 million this year isn't quite what they were hoping for.

Regardless of what you guys out there may have heard, in actual fact, it is still possible to earn a lot of cash with Google Adsense. (I'm also one of those that feeds off it.)
I mean, if you really take a good look around, you'll still see a lot of the "dinosaurs" of making money on the internet who are still making good livings with Adsense and other forms of website/blog monetization.
I'll be totally honest here, if it wasn't for my daily lookups for scoops at Technorati, I wouldn't have came across the somewhat headline topics of Joel Comm's new, version 4, book.
And since I have, I find the need to spread the word. Read the rest of this entry »
